Malhaar, is a non-profit musical group of 150-plus serious art practitioners based in the UAE.
Established four years back with a mission to bring together talented UAE-based expat singers, theatre artists, musicians, painter and dance enthusiasts to perform for a cause.
The group is an open forum for all art lovers and most of its members are working professionals, who meet in the after-hours to drive their passion for performing art. It is a professional group.
At the forefront of this choir is the talented Hindustani musician Jogiraj Sikidar. Currently based in Dubai, Jogiraj trained in Hindustani classical music under an illustrious list of Gurus that includes Padmashree Prof. Rita Ganguly. He has been performing and teaching Indian classical and choral music for over 20 years now.
The members of the group include Indian classical singers, classical dancers and instrumentalists and all are based in the UAE.
Malhaar looks forward to an exciting future in the international music arena and always eager to experiment with its collective talent and create novel experiences for the international audience through Indian musical heritage.
