Description
The Lighthouse is a curated space for food and design.
The Lighthouse showcases a unique selection of gifting merchandise and products aiming to define a contemporary design aesthetic in the Middle East.
The carefully curated environment is combined with a restaurant headed by renowned Dubai-based chef, Izu Ani.
And is designed to become a gathering point for members of the region’s creative community, allowing them to share both meals and ideas.
The Lighthouse is named after one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, a figure that remained one of the tallest man-made structures for many centuries.
The Lighthouse aims to become a reference point regarding every day design in its many forms.
The name is also a nod to Virginia Woolf and the members of the Bloomsbury Set who gathered for conversation and companionship, and, while doing so, shared many meals together.
Many of its members such as Woolf were not only pioneers in their respective fields but deeply committed to the notion of brainstorming and collaborating, often over shared meals.
This philosophy is at the heart of The Lighthouse ethos and is one of the main forces behind the founders’ belief that by combining a concept store and kitchen under one roof, they create an overall experience whose sum is far greater than the individual parts.
