The Scene; Restaurant, Lounge and Terrace serves British Pub Classics and Comfort food. Executive head chef Dominic Robinson alongside Celebrity Chef Simon Rimmer have created a menu of heart-warming dishes with a retro twist.
Open 7 days a week, The Scene is located on the 4th floor of Pier 7, adjacent to the Dubai Marina Mall; It encompasses a large lounge area and casual seating space, open plan dining for up to 350 guests, a purpose built Funktion-One sound system and a stunning alfresco terrace over-looking both the Marina and the Arabian Gulf.
Off beat in the heart of new Dubai this contemporary eatery is an instant classic with an addictive atmosphere headed up by UK chef and TV personality Simon Rimmer.
Simon, bestselling author of “Lazy Brunch” and the “Seasoned Vegetarian”; is a staple on the UK TV food scene; most notably as host of the ever-popular hangover cure “Sunday Brunch” on UK televisions’ Channel 4.
His eclectic and thoughtful food is reflected in The Scene menu of foodie favorites from Chicken Kiev oozing with garlic and tarragon butter and posh fish finger sandwiches to warm chocolate and peanut butter fondant with lashings of salted caramel sauce.
Killer-cold beverages and expertly poured cocktails accompany the menu; served straight up with a no fuss attitude throughout.
The Scene hosts’ daily happy hours, notable British calendar events including, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Easter and beyond, plus our very British roast all day Saturday, and Sunday for the purists!
Decked out in an eclectic and retro array of furnishings The Scene could be found in New York’s Meat Packing district or East End London’s hip-hangout Hoxton.

Simon and Executive Chef Dom have toiled together to create a set of menus to suit every occasion. From a snack at the bar or a 15 minute lunch, a long lazy dinner and our immense British roast dinner to finish off your week.
We are proud to cook everything fresh and use only the finest ingredients. This is done by forging great relationships with our local suppliers to ensure that our customers receive only the very best produce in every dish.
Drink & Eat
Being British we have a large selection of gins with often weird and wonderful garnishes that maybe shouldn’t work but boy do they – strawberry & cracked black pepper anyone?
Our cocktail list is designed to excite the eyes as well as the taste buds and bring that inner child back out that you had long since forgotten.
We have a concise and well-balanced wine list with grapes for the traditional and more adventurous alike at a price that no one can argue with.
We are also currently working on being the first restaurant or lounge in the UAE to showcase traditional British craft ales at their finest, whether it be from the little West London brewery that also just so happens to be ranked in the top 5 breweries in the world or award winning welsh Ales from Cardiff based Brains Brewery.
We offer happy hour specials Sunday - Thursday between the hours of 4pm - 7pm & our ‘Nocturnal Happy Hour’ 7 nights a week from 12am - 2am, which includes a large selection of draft beers, house spirits and wines as well as a bar snack menu that means you won’t have to think about rushing home for tea anytime soon.
The sounds of the scene are thanks to Dubai based producer and DJ Conan Liquid, he doesn’t buy into sub genres; only good music.
With a faultless technical ability honed from years of studying his craft – this man wrote a thesis on the technology of mix downs- and his athenaeum sized catalogue of tunes; a Conan Liquid set is a grooving journey and rhythmic education of tracks you didn’t even know you loved from start to finish.
Conan does have big bragging rights, but you won’t hear him name-dropping. His passion is firmly placed in making music and spinning tracks.
His turntable journey started out by playing hip hop and disco records in 1983 but in 1987 he heard the classic 80’s House gem by Ten City, 'That’s the way love is'.
Conan was signed to Strictly Rhythm at 26 after a coming of age trip to NYC with the formidable Gladys Pizarro; returning to the UK armed with a bucket full of jaw dropping stories and crate picked hardware from the East Village. Conan released ‘Sunny’s Theme'; a Bucketheads disco styled opus.
Conan now resides in Dubai where he runs the boutique label INfusion Records. Due to his incredible technical ability, production and beat programming skills you can expect a faultless set of good quality music, with live re-edits and remixing on the fly. Few DJs can say they have remained at the top of a scene for over 25 years, yet this man can.

When Simon opened his first restaurant ‘Greens’ in 1990, he did so with two cookery books and no idea how to cook. He had a driving passion and determination to create a great destination restaurant...
Within two years the Guardian described Greens as one of the most exciting restaurants in the UK and since then it has gone from strength to strength, expanding from a humble 25 seats to todays 100+ covers.
After the success of Greens and Earle, Simon launched his first international venture; The Scene Dubai in the heart of Dubai Marina. To this day Simon is still very much hands on in all his operations and can still be found ‘on the pans’ in the kitchen at any one of his restaurants.
Over the last seven years Simon is probably best known for his TV cookery show appearances in the UK. This has turned the Simon Rimmer brand in to a household name across the UK.
Switching from BBC2’s ‘Something for the Weekend’ to the 4 hour Sunday breakfast slot on Channel 4, Simon alongside co-host and long term sidekick Tim Lovejoy present ‘Sunday Brunch’.
In recent times he has also appeared on shows such as Great British Menu, Grub's Up, Recipe for Success, This Little Farmer, Saturday Kitchen and Richard and Judy.
Simon is the author of several cookbooks including The Accidental Vegetarian, Rebel Cook and Lazy Brunch with Tim Lovejoy. His latest book Men Love Pies, Girls Like Hummus hit the shelves last year to critical acclaim and signed copies can always be purchased from the restaurant.
