Barrel Aged: test your ability to blind taste wine by exploring classic oaked and non-oaked wines at the Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort and Spa with The Tasting Class on Friday 20 April 2018 from 7.30pm onwards.
Test your skills at this social tasting, where you have to use your nose and the clues to figure out what each glass is.
Some wines are oaked, some aren’t. Think you could taste those that are from those that aren’t?
Come taste a selection of six classically oaked or unoaked wines, learn what’s so special about them, choose your favourites, and try to guess if they have been ages in oak or not.
About The Monthly Blind Tasting
Blind tasting wines is when you don’t know what you’re drinking so you can really ‘taste’ free from bias. It makes for fun conversation with your new friends, plus interactive lesson is provided by The Tasting Class.
How it Works
We sit at social tables of 10.
Six different covered mystery bottles of wine are shared by everyone at the table.
We’ll teach some tips on tasting like a pro, and give some insight into the evening’s theme.
Everyone will then have some time to blind taste the wines and try to guess what they are using the clues provided and their own sense of smell and taste.
After everyone tastes all the wines we will vote for our favourite, then reveal the wines one by one, getting a lesson on each wine as we peel off their covers.
Taste and discuss with everyone at the table, learn about wine, vote and enjoy some snacks and socialising.
A bar will be open upon arrival to warm you up for the main tasting and snacks will be served.
