Widely regarded as one of the hottest comedy nights in the UK among the Arab community and beyond, Arts Canteen’s “Arabs Are Not Funny” is coming all the way from the UK for the first time ever to entertain Dubai audiences with side splitting stand-up comedy for one night only at Dubai Opera on Friday 6 July 2018.
Some of the funniest comedians with Arab roots, take to the stage in a line-up featuring Welsh-Egyptian comic Omar Hamdi, along with Prince Abdi, Karim Duval – who is probably the only French comic with an Asian face who speaks Arabic, as well as award winning Lebanese-British comic Esther Manito.
Omar Hamdi
Omar Hamdi lands in Dubai fresh from his British Academy Award winning BBC One programme, and shows at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall and New York’s world-famous Gotham Comedy Club.
The Egyptian-British comic, host and producer comes to Dubai Opera for a one-off exclusive show with “Arabs Are Not Funny”.
“Just what the comedy scene has been crying out for” – Daily Telegraph
“Fiery, powerful, satirical comedy” – Time Out
“Funny and hilarious” – BBC Radio
“Flamboyantly funny. Storms the show. A must see” – Arts Award Voice
“If Russell Brand mated with Michael McIntyre they would produce Omar Hamdi – fizz, brilliance, introspection. Equally funny on fundamentalism and fannies alike.” – Three Weeks Magazine
“His mix of observational comedy with energetic stage antics is fresh and insightful” – The Skinny Magazine
Prince Abdi
Prince Abdi is a British standup comedian/Actor/Writer. His versatile and unique story telling makes him a feel good comedian and one to watch.
Prince has written and starred in his own TV sketch for the BBC (UK) , Comedy Central (USA) , ITV (UK) as well as comedy and drama features. In addition to being a regular on the UK comedy circuit, Prince has also performed in various
countries overseas including USA, Canada, Turkey, Holland, Germany, Switzerland,South Africa, Singapore, China, Malaysia, France and Kenya to name a few. Prince has also supported Dave Chappelle on his national tours.

Karim Duval
Probably the only Moroccan/French comic with an Asian face who speaks Arabic… and hopefully English!
In short, he is a Sino-French-Moroccan comedian, who left his job as a manager in a big company to do stand-up. He is at the forefront of a new generation of comedy currently burgeoning in France.
Karim took part in the famous “French Fried Comedy night” troop several times, and opened for the American comedian Sebastian Marx in Paris.
