McGettigan's JLT hosts its hugely popular annual COMEDYFEST 2019 is back for its ninth year at The Baggot on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 January 2019.
The festival will see some of Ireland’s top stand up’s taking to the stage featuring Deirdre O'Kane, Colm O'Regan, Danny O'Brien, Eric Lalor and Karl Spain.
DEIRDRE O’KANE
2018 was a HUGE year for Deirdre; She starred in the latest series of Dancing with the Stars and in the last 12 months has voiced the hugely successful Gogglebox for TV3, produced Ireland's largest ever charity comedy show for Comic Relief at the 3Arena, hosted the revamped IFTA Film & Drama Awards for national broadcaster RTE, and starred alongside Debi Mazar and Hillary Duff in Darren Starr's hit sitcom Younger (TV Land, US) which aired in the autumn.

COLM O'REGAN
Critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, columnist and broadcaster. He writes a weekly column for the Irish Examiner and has written for national online and papery publications on both sides of the Irish Sea.
Colm is a columnist with RTE Radio 1’s Drivetime, BBC World Service’s In The Balance and BBC World News’ Talking Business.
He has also written and presented two half hours of comedy for Radio 1 with more to follow next year.
As a standup comedian, he has performed all over the world. His stand-up has also featured on RTÉ’s Late Late Show and on Comedy Central.

DANNY O'BRIEN
He performed his first solo show at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival to rave reviews and scooped the title of “Dublin’s Funniest Comedian” at the prestigious Stand Up For FM104 that same year.
In 2013 Danny took part in Irish TV show The RTE Comedy Awards and released his first comedy album on iTunes as part of the Irish Underground Comedy Show.
He also beat sixteen of Ireland’s best up-and-coming acts to take the coveted Toilet Duck Award at Tedfest (the now-famous Father Ted celebration).
In 2014 Danny performed at the Edinburgh Fringe with his second solo show ‘Back To The Hills!’ and had a hugely successful sold-out run, returning in 2015 with ‘Ah Jaysus!’ and "Who breaks up with Stella?" in 2016 with triumphant runs to full houses followed by shows in Ireland, the UK and Europe and the US.

KARL SPAIN
No stranger to the Comedyfest stage at McGettigan’s, is Limerick comedian Karl Spain who first came on to the scene in 2000.
Known for his self-deprecating style, his material often focuses on male “laddish” culture..
Karl is a resident writer for Republic of Telly and for countless other comedians.
ERIC LALOR
Fair City star and comedian Eric Lalor is back to MC the event.
Lalor’s gags always hit the spot!
