The Tasting Class hosts its Wine Tasting Masterclass Series: Rhône Valley on Monday 1 March 2021.
This series is designed for intermediate to advanced level wine drinkers who want to take more of a deep dive into some of the great regions and wines around the world and, where possible, will utilise a more premium level of wine to support the tasting.
WINE TASTING MASTERCLASS #2 – RHÔNE VALLEY
The Rhône Valley is one of the most prominent areas for red wine in France.
Over 100 million gallons of wine are produced in the region annually, spanning the spectrum of quality from the inexpensive bistro fare of Côtes-du-Rhône to the powerful and emblematic wines of appellations like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côte-Rôtie, and Coindreau.
This tasting will feature both the Northern Rhône, dominated by Syrah, and Southern Rhône, based on Grenache blends.
In addition, we will taste some of the rare white wines of the region.
WHAT DO THE WINE TASTING MASTERCLASSES INCLUDE?
- Sample serving of 6 premium wines representing key relevant styles, varieties and qualities
- A selection of light snacks – (please register any allergies)
- Water
- Advanced level wine tasting lesson by The Tasting Class
The wine tasting masterclasses are more of a classroom-style tasting.
They are suitable for intermediate to advanced level wine-lovers seeking a higher level of wine education, but will still be fun and interactive like all other events by The Tasting Class.
Six wine samples will be served with a WSET advanced/diploma level sommelier leading an in-depth tasting while discussing the quality, production methods, and so on.
Throughout the tasting lesson, the sommelier will talk about the history, geography, climate, and relevant labelling terminology, too.
While we will show some entry-level wines where relevant to the lesson, more premium wines will be shared at these tastings, and wine samples are portioned suitably for a tasting of this nature (it’s not a brunch ).
A selection of nibbles and water is also included.
